Victoria Falls

The enchanting Victoria Falls features the largest sheet of falling water on earth. This mesmerizing spectacle is something that simply cannot be missed on an authentic discovery of Africa. The sheer mass of water cascading down the 100 meter drop across nearly 2 kilometers, generates a thunderous roar and a magnificent spray of water that can be seen for miles. This world renowned attraction promises to captivate you from your very first glimpse of the "smoke that thunders".

Victoria Falls Activities

Situated twenty minutes out of town, The Elephant Camp gives guests the opportunity to explore Victoria Falls on their own terms. Activities such as a Village Tour, Lunch at the Lookout Cafe, Birding & Nature Walks on the concession, sundowners at Batoka Gorge, tour of the falls or visiting the Victoria Wildlife Trust are just a hint of what is available at the Elephant Camp.

Today you will depart Victoria Falls and head into the Chobe National Park to check inot the Chobe Game Lodge. Bordering Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia, the lodge is ideally located to connect with both Victoria Falls and Livingstone, with an average 90-minute transfer time to Chobe Game Lodge. Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park features one of the largest concentrations of game in all of Africa. Located in Northern Botswana, it was the country's first National Park and is now the third largest in size and most biologically diverse. For these reasons, Chobe is an essential bucket list destination, while on safari in Botswana. The Chobe floodplains and Chobe River provide a sensitive ecosystem, where the wildlife concentrate during the dry season. It is not uncommon to see between 500 and 5,000 elephants on these floodplains at one time! Between the combination of wildlife, bird life and reptiles that are scattered along the banks of the Chobe River, this National Park is a photographer's dream.

Lodge Activities

Chobe Game Lodge offers an exciting variety of land or water-based activities in the Chobe National Park. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are conducted by expert guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles, to ensure maximum visibility of the park's spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Meanwhile, riverside game viewing may be done from small and highly maneuverable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance and is even home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season, these large herds, as well as herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope as well.

Between safari activities, cool off in the pool or keep an eye out for elephants, hippos and other wildlife that are regularly seen from the lodge. Being the only lodge in the reserve, you will have the benefit of exclusivity before the park gates open to the public. Your fully inclusive stay covers all meals, local brand drinks, two scheduled safari activities daily, National Park fees and laundry. Premium imported wines, champagnes and spirits are excluded.

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is one of the world's largest inland deltas situated in the middle of the largest stretch of continuous sand in the world - the Kalahari basin. This oasis in the middle of the desert is a rich yet fragile ecosystem, providing a life source for an incredible variety of wildlife. A wealth of species have adapted to the contrasting conditions created by living in the harsh Kalahari desert which is transformed annually with the arrival of the delta flood waters originating in Angola.

Camp Activities

Kanana Camp is set on the Xudum river deep in the southern part of the Okavango Delta. The idyllic hillock of islands formed by fertile eroded termite hills makes for exciting game walks and the concessions. Activities include morning and late afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Alternatively, you may explore the crystal clear waterways and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plant and reptile species found in the area. Birding is spectacular, and Kanana hosts a seasonal breeding ground for herons that teems with activity, a Kanana highlight, which converts all visitors to avid ‘twitchers’. Guided bush walks are highly recommended as is fishing for tilapia, African pike and sharptooth catfish. In the evenings, there are sleep out decks that offer the opportunity to spend the night under the splendid African sky.

During your stay you can enjoy the luxury of full board and game activities on property. This includes the services of professional guides, all meals and snacks, selected beverages and daily laundry services.

Lodge Activities

During your fully inclusive stay at the Chobe Shinde Camp, you will have plenty of adventure activities to choose from. Nestled on a lush palm island in the heart of the northern Okavango Delta, Shinde is an intimate, classic camp located on the edge of Shinde Lagoon, which simply teems with animal and birdlife. The camps unique main area comprises a multi-tiered dining room and lounge which is set under canvas under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees.

Courtesy of its location Shinde can offer both water and land activities year round. Motorboats or Mokoro provide a chance to experience the incredible bird, plant and reptile species found in the aquatic habitat of the Okavango Delta. Game drives are conducted by a personal guide in comfortable, specially designed game drive vehicles. For the more adventurous, guided walks are also available while fishing enthusiasts will enjoy fishing for a variety of species such as tilapia and tigerfish.

Chobe Game Lodge is the only permanent lodge situated within the boundaries of Chobe National Park. Built along the riverbanks with spectacular views of the Chobe River and the surrounding floodplains, this well established lodge is a prime venue to explore the wonders of Chobe National Park. You will be taken care of by the hospitable and friendly staff of the lodge, in a relaxed and luxurious environment in tune with a timeless Africa. Chobe Game Lodge features 48 rooms, which are river facing with air conditioning and overhead fans, a complimentary mini bar, en-suite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have their own private terrace as well.

Kanana Camp

A hidden jewel on the Xudum River, Kanana is located in the southwest of the Okavango Delta. The area encompasses a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knobthorn, and is home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals. The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta. Guests are accommodated in eight spacious, twin-bedded safari tents, each with en-suite bathrooms with shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilet. The tents are well spaced, affording privacy whilst remaining within comfortable distance from the main lodge area. The annual floods transform this dry camp into a true water experience and you may actually enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the water visibly rising around the camp’s raised teak decks.

Shinde Camp

Shinde Camp is a magical hideaway in the wildlife abundant Shinde private concession. Nestled within the shade of ancient jackal berries, water figs and knob thorns, the property was built in a remote setting on the edge of the permanent waters of the northern Okavango Delta. It is surrounded by clear waterways teeming with birdlife and game, which offers a wide variety of activities all year round. The camp consists of eight large safari style tents on timber decking furnished in elegant African style. The main lodge is known as the ‘tree house’ and is a multi-tiered structure with the dining room adjoined by stairs and ramps to several lounging areas, each offering different views across the delta. There is a boma area at the foot of the lodge and a venue for stargazing in the evenings, while enjoying a drink around the campfire.
