The Victoria Falls are one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is the largest sheet of falling water on earth - a spellbinding and mesmerizing spectacle. The sheer mass of water cascading down the 100 meter drop across nearly 2 km makes a thunderous roar and creates a magnificent spray of water that can be seen for miles - hence the local name 'mosi oa tunya' meaning 'the smoke that thunders'.
Situated twenty minutes out of town, The Elephant Camp gives guests the opportunity to explore Victoria Falls on their own terms. Activities such as a Village Tour, Lunch at the Lookout Cafe, Birding & Nature Walks on the concession, sundowners at Batoka Gorge, tour of the falls or visiting the Victoria Wildlife Trust are just a hint of what is available at the Elephant Camp.
Today you will depart Victoria Falls and head into the Chobe National Park to check inot the Chobe Game Lodge. Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. By size, it is the third largest park in the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most biologically diverse. It is also the country's first national park.
Chobe National park is a essential destination while on safari in Botswana. The Chobe floodplains and Chobe River provide a sensitive ecosystem where the wildlife of Botswana concentrate during the dry season. It is not uncommon to see between 500 and 5000 Elephants on these floodplains at one time. The highlight of a visit to Chobe National Park is the combination of wildlife, Birdlife and reptiles along the banks of the Chobe River. This is a photographers dream.
Chobe Game Lodge offers a choice of land or water-based activities and the most complete game experience in the Chobe National Park. Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives are conducted by our expert guides in open-sided 4x4 vehicles to ensure maximum visibility of the park's spectacular scenery and abundant wildlife. Meanwhile, riverside game viewing may be done from small and highly manoeuvrable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. Chobe's diverse wildlife roams in abundance – it is, for instance, home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa. During the dry season these large herds, as well as vast herds of buffalo, congregate on the fertile flood plains along the Chobe River to drink, bathe and play. There are frequent sightings of lion, African wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope.
Between exciting game drives, boat safaris and sunset cruises, perhaps cool off in the pool or keep an eye out for elephant, hippos and wildlife, regularly seen from the lodge. Being the only lodge in the reserve, you have the benefit of exclusivity before the park gates open to the public.
Your stay includes: All meals, local brand drinks, complimentary mini bar, 2 scheduled safari activities daily, National Park fees and laundry.
