Arenal Volcano National Park

Though it has remained dormant since 1968, Arenal Volcano is the highlight of one of Costa Rica's most popular national parks. Beautiful trails, volcanic hot springs, and ample adventure activities abound, all interspersed with rare rumblings from the sleeping mountain. Plenty of lodges and hotels are built into the countryside with views of Arenal Volcano to take advantage of this picturesque region. It won't take you long to see why this is such a hot spot! From rain clouds, to clear blue skies, it's a beautiful and unique site to behold no matter what.

Cano Negro Boat Tour

The Cano Negro Wildlife Reserve is one of the most important reserves for spectacular bird watching and observation of wildlife in Costa Rica. Cano Negro is also home to many sloths, monkeys, caimans and bats, as well as numerous tropical plants.

This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel to head out on a boat tour, to further explore the natural wild. With your local guide, you will slowly and silently cruise to this exceptional national refuge in a comfortable boat. As you glide along the water, admire the beautiful flora and fauna that passes you by. After the ride, you will be served a traditional and tasty lunch in the restaurant "El Caiman", which is perfectly located on the riverbank of "Rio Frío". Hanging Bridges & Sky Tram Adventure

The Sky Tram gondolas rise smoothly through the Rain Forest, offering up endless views during their mountainous ascent. This tour is perfect for people who want to take a different approach on admiring nature. On the tour, you will be attended by a bilingual guide who will point out distinctive characteristics of the flora and fauna and other interesting facts of the area. The Sky Tram travels up the mountains to arrive to a wide observation platform on the highest point of the reserve, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the Arenal Volcano, Lake, and the surrounding forests. Sky Walk offers a more peaceful introduction to exploring Arenal Rainforest on a 4km (2.5mi) circuit trail that snakes through distinct levels of the wonderfully diverse ecosystem. Sky Walk uses these trails and a series of suspension bridges for a one on one experience with the flora and fauna of the forest canopy. You will hike deep into these magical tropical forests to admire nature from a unique perspective. Crossing hanging bridges with complete views of the forest canopy, and from the forest floor on well-maintained paths – a naturalist guide will point out intriguing plant and animal life. Nocturnal Nature Experience

This excursion is the perfect activity for those wanting to make sure they take advantage of literally every minute in Costa Rica! On a unique night hike, you will be taken to discover some of the country’s nocturnal wonders, as their world starts to come alive. The tour begins in a small town known as La Tigra, located just 30 minutes from La Fortuna. Upon arrival, you will embark on a trail towards a small patch of rainforest used to facilitate wildlife observation. You can expect to see species such as nocturnal birds and mammals, insects, amphibians, bats and more.

The trail then continues to a frog sanctuary, which is an area dedicated to the regeneration and natural reproduction of frog species. You can admire and learn about a variety of species here, including the Dart Frog and the Bull Frog, the smallest and largest species in the country, as well as the spectacular Red Eyed Tree Frog and the beautiful Glass Frog. Following your discovery of the nocturnal wildlife, a delicious Costa Rican dinner will be prepared for you on a wood burning stove.
