Although Tanzania boasts some of the world’s most beautiful lodges, for a true safari experience nothing can compare to spending the night in a canvas tent close to the wildlife and the beautiful Serengeti night sky. If you love nature and the great outdoors (and we do mean Great!) than the Safari and Canvas itinerary is for you: safari by day, camp by night and truly interact with Tanzania's incredibly unique environment throughout your entire stay.
This luxury option includes a flight into the Serengeti National Park, so that you can spend the most time possible on the beautiful Serengeti plains. The luxury option also allows you to stay in luxury camps so you don't have to sacrifice your personal comfort and hygiene to be one with nature.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha
Meet at the airport and transfer to your lodge for pre-safari briefing. Optional craft market or visit to one of Arusha assistance projects.

Day 2 - Arusha - Serengeti
After an early breakfast, we are transferred to the Arusha airport for our flight to the central Serengeti. Upon arrival, our guide is waiting for us, and we set off to explore these great plains. Criss-crossed with forested riverine valleys, the Serengeti is home to millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Day 3 - Serengeti
Enjoy a full day game driving in Serengeti. The best time for the wildebeest migration is from December to June but there are spectacular wildlife sights at anytime of year.

Day 4 - Serengeti
Once again, we can set out for an all day game drive – or choose to take an early morning game drive before returning for lunch and a short rest. In the mid-afternoon, we set off again in search of the predators beginning their night stalking.

Day 5 - Serengeti - Ngorongoro
Enjoy more game driving in the Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater. Enjoy lunch en-route at Olduvai Gorge and a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Continue onto the luxury camp in the conservation area for overnight.

Day 6 - Ngorongoro - Manyara
Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. In the early morning, you wil descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. In the afternoon, we return to our luxury camp for overnight.

Day 7 Manyara - Arusha
We enjoy a morning walk on the crater rim before transferring to a village called Esilalei (Toothbrush Tree) located in the wildlife corridor in between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. We enjoy a packed lunch just as we enter the village and are met by the village elders and morani (warriors) singing and dancing to welcome us. Your visit supports the building of their school here. After spending some time with the villagers, you will head back to Arusha.
Overnight: Onward travel to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam is possible. (Breakfast and Lunch included)

Lake Duluti Lodge
Lake Duluti Lodge offers incredible villa style suites on the shore's of Lake Duluti. It is set on a 30 acre working coffee plantation and all your meals, snacks, local drinks, laundry, butler service and nature walks are included. Also has a swimming pool and bar/lounge area at your convenience.
Lemala Ngorongoro Camp
Lemala Ngorongoro Camp is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area giving easy access into the Ngorongoro Crater floor
Note: The ultimate locations for game driving alter throughout the year depending on the location of the Wildebeest Migration and the resident wildlife. For this reason, we also amend the accommodations in the Serengeti throughout the year to suit:

- April - July: Mbalageti Serengeti, tented chalet
- August - November: Sayari Camp

The walks within the tribal areas are carried out by our own guides in conjunction with the local, tribal guide – this allows easy translation and interpretation. Many of the areas have an array of plant & bird life so binoculars often assist in exact identification.
