The Apsara

Luang Prabang, Laos

Prices From: $75

The building now housing the Apsara Hotel was built in the early 1960s and was originally used as a warehouse to store rice. Renovated and reopened in December 2002, it has quickly gained a reputation as a very chic place to stay in Luang Prabang. Right in the heart of the Heritage center, on the banks of the Nam Khan, The Apsara, as well as having beautifully designed rooms with private terraces that face the river, also has a restaurant serving modern European and Asian food and the driest Martinis in town.

All rooms have private baths and are air-conditioned. The Apsara overlooks the Nam Khan river and the ‘Big Elephant' mountain and faces east, offering spectacular sunrises. The Apsara is proud to be one of only two hotels on this quiet side of the peninsula.

All rooms are air-conditioned and face the river. The Apsara comprises of two renovated buildings, and although sound proofing between floors has been included, it cannot cope with the sound of small children running around and playing. As the hotel hopes that its guest will have a tranquil stay, we regretfully cannot now offer upstairs rooms to people with small children.
