Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - San Jose Arrival

Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel about 30 minutes from the airport. Depending on when you arrive you will have time to explore on your own or relax at leisure.

Overnight: Autentico Hotel

Day 2 - San Jose - Arenal

You will be met and transferred to your accommodation in Arenal. Total drive time is approximately 3 hours. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure.

Hotel Arenal Manoa is a beautiful property offering marvellous views of the Arenal Volcano. Surrounded by gardens, lush pasture and animals, rooms have been designed so that each offers a panoramic view of the volcano. Guests can take advantage of the spacious gardens for walking and meditation as well as the opportunities to see the daily operations of a typical Costa Rican farm.

Day 3 - Arenal Volcano

Today you will be met at your hotel lobby by your guide who will take you on a tour of the hanging bridges overlooking the abundant biodiversity existent in the natural reserve. Your naturalist guide will open the doors to you into the fascinating and colorful tropical rainforest world through his knowledge of natural history. This tour is a fun and educational way to learn about the surrounding natural environment. Its purpose is to offer you, in a safe and sustainable way, a tiny passage into the kindness of nature, and in this way, take care of it for the future generations.

In the evening, you will be able to unwind at the EcoTermales hotsprings. This location offeres an array of different pools with different temperature of naturally themal heated water filled with minerals, truly revitalizing!

Day 4 - Arenal Volcano - Monteverde Cloud Forest

After checking out of your lodge this morning, you will meet your driver and transfer to the dock on Lake Arenal and take a 15 minute boat transfer across the water. Following this will be a ride up the mountains to Monteverde. This place is literally called "Green Mountain," and you will witness the changes in vegetation and climate as you ascend from 900 meters to 1600 meters above sea level.

World famous, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve offers a great diversity of flora and fauna, including the Resplendent Quetzal, one of the most beautiful birds on our continent. Managed by the Tropical Science Center, the Monteverde Reserve is well known for it is diverse vegetation, which supports six different life zones. Check into your lodge here and enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring Monteverde at your leisure.

Day 5 - Monteverde Cloud Forest

This morning at 7:00am, you will be picked up for a morning hike through the biological reserve. Enjoy learning about the vast diversity as you follow your local guide, who will tell you about the local wildlife and fauna. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve offers well developed and easily negotiable trails that access some of the most beautiful primary cloud forests in the world. Return to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at your leisure.

Day 6 - Monteverde - Manuel Antonio National Park

This morning you will drive to the Manuel Antonio area.(Approximate travel time is 4 hours). Upon arrival, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Overnight: El Faro Beach Hotel (Breakfast included)

Day 7 - Manuel Antonio National Park

This morning, you'll enjoy a group guided visit to Manuel Antonio National Park, arguably the country's most beautiful and popular protected coastal area. The national park contains pristine white-sand beaches, hidden coves ideal for snorkeling, trails through tropical forest filled with wildlife and the landmark Punta Catedral, towering high above the deep blue Pacific Ocean.

This afternoon, you'll be transferred back to your accommodation in Manuel Antonio to enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Dinner will be served at your hotel tonight.

Day 9 - Manuel Antonio - San Jose Departure

This morning you will be transferred to San Jose International Airport in good time to board your flights home!

The Hotel Fonda Vela is located in beautiful Monteverde, famous for its rare and gorgeous cloud forest and friendly community. The climate is refreshing, often referred to as "eternal spring". The views of the Gulf of Nicoya from the hotel's 1,400 meter (4,200 foot) elevation are spectacular. Monteverde is an ideal destination for relaxing and enjoying the wonders of the tropics. A visit of at least two nights or more in Monteverde is recommended.

El Faro Beach Hotel

HOffering an infinity pool and free WiFi, El Faro Beach Hotel is located in Manuel Antonio, about 8 minutes’ walk from the beachfront. This property is Costa Rica's only container hotel.

Each minimalist and modern accommodation will provide you with cable TV and air conditioning. There is also a coffee machine available. Featuring a shower, private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer. Guests can enjoy the sea and pool views from the rooms. Extras include a safety deposit box and bed linen.
