Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - San Jose Arrival

Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in San Jose.

Overnight: Hotel Don Bosco

Day 2 -Tortuguero

In the morning after breakfast, you will drive through the magnificent Braulio Carrillo National Park which boasts many waterfalls, deep canyons and high gradient mountains that distinguish it. Two extinct volcanoes, Barva and Cacho Negro, are important reference points. Both have many beautiful lagoons and lakes. From here you will be transferred to Tortuguero Canals National Park located in the northern Caribbean. In the afternoon, accompanied by your naturalist guide you will explore our local attractions including the butterfly farm, frog farm and garden, ranarium, aquarium, bio-digestor, and gardens.

Day 3 - Tortuguero

Following your fresh made breakfast, you will depart by boat to a private trail for a guided walk through the tropical rainforest. After this activity you will return to the hotel for the lunch. In the afternoon you will tour the canals by boat where you will try to spot wildlife like (Toucans, monkeys, crocodiles, etc). Tortuguero N.P. has some of the most varied ecological habitats within the National parks system.

Day 4 - Tortuguero - Arenal

After breakfast you will meet at the main dock to return by boat to the Caño Blanco dock and then transfer to the Arenal Volcano. This is the most active volcano in Costa Rica. It was known by foreigners as Volcan Costa Rica, Rio Frio, Canastos Volcano and Cerro de los Guatusos. Arenal is the youngest and most active of all the mountains in Costa Rica. In the late afternoon you will have the option to visit some natural hot springs.

Day 5 - Arenal

In the morning after breakfast you will go hiking at the Arenal Volcano National Park. In reality, this park has two volcanoes. The 5,357-ft. Arenal Volcano and the 3,740-ft. Chato Volcano. The latter has been inactive for 3,500 years and has a collapsed crater that contains a picture-perfect lagoon. Within the park, short trails pass through both secondary forest and lava fields from previous eruptions. In the afternoon you will go on a hike to the Fortuna waterfall where after a short steep walk you can go for a refreshing swim. The 70-meter ribbon of water falls into a great swimming hole, surrounded by lush tropical forest, protected by the local conservation project.

Day 6 - Arenal - Manuel Antonio

After breakfast we will depart and spend the day at the Manuel Antonio National Park area. On the way we will have a Jurassic Park encounter, so have your cameras and binoculars ready. The afternoon will be for your own leisure.

Overnight: Hotel Byblos(Breakfast Included)

Day 7 - Manuel Antonio

Following a delicious breakfast you will go visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Here there are 4 beautiful beaches and a rain forest that hosts white faced monkeys, squirrel monkeys, sloths and howler monkeys. As tiny as it may be, this 682-hectare national park epitomizes everything tourists flock to Costa Rica to see: stunning beaches, a magnificent setting with islands offshore (bird sanctuaries for marine species), lush rainforest laced with a network of welcoming trails, wildlife galore and all of these within walking distance of your hotel. The Afternoon will be for your own leisure.

Day 8 - Manuel Antonio - San José

Last morning in Manuel Antonio to enjoy the scenery during your own leisure time. In the afternoon transfer back to San José.

Pick up at your hotel in San José and transfer to airport.
