Today, you will be taken on a private guided half day tour of the city. During this excursion, you will visit the main attractions, including the Metropolitan Cathedral, Government House, Mayo Square, Congress Hall, Colon Opera Theater, San Telmo, La Boca Italian District and Palermo Park. Your guide can also take you to see the famous cemetery in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Although the historic cemetery sits in stark contrast to the fashionable nearby streets that are decorated with quaint sidewalk cafes and elegant boutiques, its beauty is worth its own exploration. The incredible natural beauty of the area is available all year round for a rejuvenating retreat. In addition to the region's famous outdoor activities, ranging from mountain biking and kayaking, to snow boarding and hiking, the town of Bariloche itself, features a charming Swiss Alps feel.

Full Day Andes Trail & Adventure Activities

Enjoy a relaxing morning to sleep in and rest, before you are picked up at the hotel at 10:30 am. With your private guide, you will drive to Bahia Lopez, located just under an hour away. Here, you will get to enjoy a leisurely walk that will lead you deep into the woodlands. At the end of your walk, you will be rewarded with the views from the natural balconies at the Brazo Tristeza of Nahuel Huapi Lake. The walk itself will offer breathtaking views over the nearby mountains and ravishing lake. You will access another balcony as well, after a short ascent, where you can admire the beauty of the Cerro Tronador. During the 40 minutes trek journey in total, there will be a mild altitude gain and about a 20 minute ascent.

For those who dare to venture even further, you can join the thrill of a 40 meter rappel descent. At the base of the wall, there will be a delicious mountain lunch prepared and served for you, complete with Patagonian delicacies and wines. After lunch, you will walk back to the starting point, where you can choose to board double adventure kayaks and paddle through one of the stunning lakes in the area (optional activity at additional cost). Alternatively, you can be returned directly back to your hotel, as long as you are staying at the Hotel Llao Llao. (This service is on a private basis.)

Upon arrival, you will be greeted at the airport by a representative from Eolo and transferred to your hotel, located approximately 20 minutes outside of El Calafate town. (This service is on a shared basis.)

El Calafate

The small town of El Calafate is located on the southern border of Lake Argentino, in the great Patagonia region of Argentina. This quiet little town is the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park, home of the famous Perito Moreno Glacier and the Cerro Torre. The Perito Moreno Glacier is the largest advancing glacier in the world. Due to its idyllic location, the opportunities for outdoor adventure are unparalleled. From hiking through snow capped mountain peaks and cycling around wide open lakes, to trekking the icy surface of glaciers and paddling past ice blocks in kayaks, you can find it all!

Day 7: El Calafate

Perito Moreno & Safari Nautico

This morning, you will be met by your guide to depart El Calafate, heading towards Perito Moreno Glacier, for a full day of unforgettable adventure! It is an 80 km long journey to the glacier, with time for plenty of stops along the way to take pictures. For the duration of the tour, a guide from ā€œLos Glaciaresā€ National Park will be with you, informing you about the surrounding area, the history and mysticism of this unique glacier. After entering the Andean Patagonian forest area, you will stop at ā€œCurva de los Suspirosā€ (Sighs Curve), to marvel at the first panoramic view of the Perito Moreno Glacier. While trying to take it all in, continue your way to the platforms and balconies in front of the glacier, with free time to explore the various perspectives on your own.

You will then board the Safari Nautico for a 30 to 40 minute boat ride. This will award you with an alternative view of the glacier (departing from ā€œBajo de las Sombrasā€). Marvel at the different perspective of the stunning walls of the glacier and the permanent detachments of blocks of ice. The blocks will later become icebergs, and as others float by very close to the boat, they provide a tinge in the reflection of the channels and lakes, to give it that peculiar blue they have always had. The craft, which offers room for up to 70 people, takes a prudential position, close enough to the wall, as to be able to cover its whole extension.

Today's excursion will last about 10 hours, for a long, but very worthwhile experience. You will be dropped back off at your hotel by the end of the tour. (This service is on a group basis.)

Day 8: El Calafate

Upsala Glacier & Estancia Cristina 4X4 Tour

Today, you will head to Estancia Cristina for another day of adventure! You will be met at the hotel this morning by your guide and transferred to Punta Bandera, which lies approximately 49 kms from town. Along the journey there, keep a lookout from the window of the spectacular views of the 9km-wide Upsala Glacier, the largest in the area. When you reach Punta Bandera, board a modern and comfortable boat to sail among icebergs. Admire the stunning scenery overlooking the western front of the Upsala Glacier, as you navigate along the northern channel of Argentino Lake. Once you reach the pier at Estancia Cristina (Cristina Ranch), you will disemebark the boat to continue your exploration from land.

At the Estancia, you will hop on a 4WD to discover all that the property has to offer, and observe the variety of flora and fauna of the Los Glaciares National Park. You will ride on to visit Upsala Glacier, Lake Guillermo and the Southern Patagonian Ice and Andes, spending a total of 3 hours in exploration on the 4WD and 30 minutes of walking. Lunch is not included in the tour, although delicious BBQ options are available for you at the Ranch. After lunch, you will head out on a historic walk to visit the Chapel and Costumbrista Museum (sheep shearing shed), before heading back to the port. From there, you will take a bus back to El Calafate, arriving later this evening. (This service is on a group basis.)

Iguazu Falls

The waterfalls of Iguazu are located in northern Argentina, near the border of Paraguay and Brazil. They are made up of 275 falls, some of the cascading waters rushing up to 80 meters high! The 1,000 meter foot bridge on the Argentinian side will lead you to the largest of the falls, La Garganta de Diablo, the Devil's Throat. You can hike the trails on the Argentinean side, as well as the Brazilian side for various perspectives of the breathtaking scenery. Both sides offer exceptional views of the majestic waterfalls and the rich green jungle that surrounds the area. The natural beauty here is simply incomparable.

Enjoy the 275 cascades in all of its splendor, as viewed from various access points. In order to get the most out of this experience, follow along the footbridges and the navigation tours, which lead you closer and closer to the waterfalls. Beginning at the Visitors Center, you will venture out into the stunning scenery of the lower circuit. This picturesque route showcases a discovery of the dense jungle, in addition to the falls.
