Welcome to Argentina! Upon arrival at the Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, you will be greeted by your English speaking guide in the arrivals area, who will be holding a sign with your name on it. You will then be transferred directly to your hotel in the vibrant downtown area, for a smooth and easy start to your trip. This drive should take roughly one hour. At the hotel, you will have time to drop off your luggage and freshen up, before your adventure kicks off right away with an afternoon tour.

Buenos Aires City Tour

Today, you will be taken on a half day tour through famous attractions and hidden treasures of Buenos Aires. Your journey begins with a drive through the narrows streets of the old city and the broad avenues that showcase the city's modern growth. Venture down South Americaā€™s broadest avenue, 9 de Julio Avenue, and visit the bustling May Square. Adjacent to the Square, you will see May Avenue, decorated with charming Art Nouveau buildings, old hotels, theaters and cafes. Continue towards San Telmo next, a neighborhood made up of bohemians, artists, antique shops and cobblestone streets. You will pass Dorrego Square, where each Sunday thousands of tourists and locals come together to visit the local antique fair.

Afterwards, you will visit the city's popular La Boca neighborhood, decorated with artist studios and workshops, amidst the brightly colored buildings. Take a walk along the charming street of Caminito and explore the Puerto Madero. In constant development, this gentrified neighborhood currently showcases cosmopolitan residences, chic hotels, trendy restaurants and exclusive apartments by the river. Your next stop is San Martin Square, surrounded by elegant buildings with French architecture, followed by a stroll through the traditional neighborhood of Palermo. This is a favorite locals spot to play sports and hang out in the large parks, rose gardens and lakes. Buenos Aires adventures would not be complete without dipping your toe into its beating cultural heart. Tonight, you will revel in old-school glamour, as you watch a show at one of the cityā€™s most authentic houses, Carlos Gardel. Carlos Gardel, a national icon, wrote hundreds of famous tangos, but he also sang and this tango house is located on the exact spot where he used to wow his audiences! Elegance and splendor electrifies every corner of this dazzling place.

Dinner this evening starts at 8:30 PM, with the show at 10:30 PM and finishes at midnight. You can enjoy the most delicious dishes of international cuisine, with Argentinean specialties and a selected wine list. Your three course dinner is a la carte, and includes all beverages. We have arranged for an upgrade to the VIP section for this special evening. This will include rutini wines, a better view of the show and a more comfortable and spacious table, for your enjoyment. During the tango show, you will learn about the history of tango from its beginning, to the present. The five pairs of dancers on stage every night dazzle with classic performances and modern interpretations of acrobatic tango. Tonight's unique cultural experience will take place at an old refurbished apartment, exquisitely decorated, in Av de Mayo. Here, you will learn how to cook a three-course classic Argentinian menu, including a starter, main course and dessert. After learning how to prepare each delicious dish, you will have the opportunity to taste them in company with some local malbec wine. The class is designed to be a rich experience, which connects you with the local food, so you are encouraged to ask as many questions as you wish about the cooking, the food, the process and the culture. Following a fun and exciting few days in Buenos Aires, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred 30 minutes to the AEP Airport. You will be dropped off in good time to board your domestic flight to Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a local representative and transferred to the luxurious Awasi Lodge. Lying on the banks of the Iguazu River, Awasi IguazĆŗ is the perfect spot to enjoy the world famous National Park and its surroundings, while also enjoying especially crafted excursions that go beyond the falls. Showcasing a diversity of flora, fauna, culture and landscapes, the Misiones region is rich with attractions and activities, ensures you make the most of your time here. Accompanied by your private vehicle and guide, take to the jungle roads and experience the best of this stunning area, paying visits to archaeological sites, trekking through the trees, learning about the Misiones melting pot of cultures or enjoying a boat ride along the river, tucking into a sunset picnic alongside the falls themselves. Your stay at Awasi Iguazu benefits from exclusive access to the park after the gates close to the public, and your entire stay can be crafted to your taste making every visit unique!

After dropping off your luggage, don't waste any time exploring the enchanting falls! Meet your guide and venture to the Brazilian side to get your first experience. Upon arrival at the Visitor's Center, the entrance of the Iguassu National Park is located about 10 kilometers away from downtown Foz do IguazĆŗ. Take some time to see the exhibits before continuing onto the National Park, along a paved road that will lead you to the magnificent Falls. Start a walking tour along the catwalk, measuring one kilometer of easy hike, with several panoramic views of the Falls and a close-up to the Devil's Throat.

Today's experience will be very different when compared to the Argentine side, since you get in front of the falls, as if you were on a balcony. The tour ends at the upper part of Iguazu Falls accessed through a panoramic elevator; from where you get to a lookout point with a view to the upper Iguazu River.

Please note: Holders of U.S. passports are required to obtain tourist visas for Brazil. The Brazilian visa must be obtained prior to departing the United States. Visas cannot be obtained at the Brazilian border. It is each travellerā€™s responsibility to obtain all documents necessary for admittance to Brazil.

After days spent exploring the impressive natural scenery in and around the IguazĆŗ Falls, you will return to Awasi for a swim in your own private plunge pool, a drink at the bar in the main lodge and long evening meals in the chef driven restaurant.

Iguazu Falls

The waterfalls of Iguazu are located in northern Argentina, near the border of Paraguay and Brazil. They are made up of 275 falls, some of the cascading waters rushing up to 80 meters high! The 1,000 meter foot bridge on the Argentinian side will lead you to the largest of the falls, La Garganta de Diablo, the Devil's Throat. You can hike the trails on the Argentinean side, as well as the Brazilian side for various perspectives of the breathtaking scenery. Both sides offer exceptional views of the majestic waterfalls and the rich green jungle that surrounds the area. The natural beauty here is simply incomparable.

Argentina Side Exploration

Designed by a team of specialized guides and local biologists, your experience at Awasi ensures that no stone is left unturned when it comes to discovering the highlights of the region. Each villa is assigned with a private guide and 4WD, allowing you to explore at your own pace, visiting where you want on your own timeline.

Today, you may want to be taken on a full day exploration of Iguazu Falls, from the Argentina Side, including the opportunity to visit the famous 'Devil's Gorge'. Your excursion entails leisurely walks to the upper and lower paths around the waterfalls, surrounded by lush jungles and exotic bird life. Keep your eyes out for the local wildlife, such as plush-crested jays, reddish-bellied parakeets, toucans and coatis. The upper path takes about 45 minutes to walk, and features breathtaking views of the Two Sisters, Bosseti, Adam and Eve, Bernabe Mendez, MbiguĆ” and San MartĆ­n Falls. The lower path is longer, and the walk takes roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes. From this viewpoint, you will be able to admire the falls from above. After your walking exploration, you will be taken to the well known Devil's Throat. For this part of the tour, you will board a little train that will take you just 4 km to the Devil's Throat Station, surrounding the upper part of the Iguazu River. Upon arrival, you will continue with a scenic walk along the balcony of Devilā€™s Throat, known as, 'Garganta del Diablo' in Spanish. This is a U-shaped, 82-meter-high, 150-meter-wide and 700-meter-long cataract, which offers the most impressive sight of all. It is also the mark that creates the border between Argentina and Brazil. Perhaps venture into the Atlantic Rainforest, home to more than 400 species of birds, many of them endemic, plus unique orchids and ferns, tapirs, Capuchin monkeys and puma. Explore jungle trails encompassing endangered trees or crystal clear pools, only reachable by boat. Visit archaeological Jesuit ruins or local Guarani tribes who practice ancient artisan crafts. This region specifically is known for its world renowned variety of wineries that produce famous wines, including family owned, boutique and small wineries, as well as traditional and centenary ones with historical richness. This diversity of facilities and the many options for activities in this area, make it known as one of the most visited places in the world by wine lovers. The average distance between the wineries and the city of Mendoza is about 15 to 20 km, and during today's excursion you can look forward to visiting three different wineries enjoying wine tasting and lunch.
