Sumahan - On The Water is the only hotel in Istanbul to sit directly on the Bosphorus. Each room provides a panoramic view of the straits which separate Europe from Asia, a moving spectacle of boats, light and water, framed by the dramatic span of the Bosphorus Bridge and the domed skyline of the historic city.

Sumahan is in the best traditions of restoration architecture. It was originally a 19th century factory designed to turn boatloads of fresh figs into "suma", the raw spirit used to manufacture raki- still Turkey's most popular and potent drink.

Sumahan is a very modern hotel in an historic setting. The atmosphere is relaxed and the hospitality is highly personal.
