If you only have a week in Tanzania and you want to see the best sights it has to offer, this Unique Highlights itinerary is for you. In this itinerary you will only find activities and destinations that make Tanzania unique. Observe herds of wildebeest migrate across the plains, spy on a vibrant watering hole, and be welcomed by the friendly, local Maasai-- only in Tanzanzia! This itinerary effectively condenses the best of Tanzania into a 6 day itinerary for a trip you'll never forget!
Day 1 - Arusha
This evening you'll enjoy a pre-safari briefing at your lodge.
Ahadi Lodge is located on the northern side of Arusha in ‘suburbia’. It is considered an oasis amongst a busy world outside the gates. They have a great pool and are known for their excellent hospitality and cuisine.

Day 2 - Arusha - Esilalei - Crater Highlands
After breakfast, we transfer into the Maasai Heartlands to a village called Esilalei (Toothbrush Tree) located in the wildlife corridor in between Tarangire and Lake Manyara. We enjoy a packed lunch just as we enter the village and are met by the village elders and morani (warriors) singing and dancing to welcome us. Your visit supports the building of their school here. Continue onto the permanent camp for overnight.

Day 3 - Crater Highlands - Ngorongoro
This morning transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater Reserve. Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world.
In late afternoon, we return to the crater rim for a wilderness walk that showcases incredible views of the caldera and continue into the forest for overnight.

Day 4 - Ngorongoro - Serengeti
Serengeti is calling today – optional pass through Olduvai Gorge for a view of the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Otherwise, we drive directly to the Serengeti! Game drive in the rolling grasslands. Criss-crossed with forested riverine valleys, the Serengeti plays home to millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

Day 5 - Serengeti
All day game drive in Serengeti. Best time for the wildebeest migration is December to June but there are spectacular wildlife sights at anytime of year.

Day 6 - Serengeti - Arusha
After breakfast, return transfer to Arusha or to the local airstrip to fly back to Arusha (flight available on request and at an additional cost).
Arusha is the Gateway to the Northern National Parks of Tanzania such as Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongro Crater and the famous Serengeti. The lodge is situated in the village of Movarian, Arusha, a few hundred metres from the Moshi / Nairobi Road which is approximately 3 km from Arusha CBD.
The Ahadi Lodge is set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens. There is a swimming pool for your pleasure - enjoy a refreshing swim at the end of your long journey, or after a day of sightseeing. Relax by the pool and sip an ice cold drink from the bar under the African Sun.
Rift Valley Photographic Lodge
Rift Valley Photographic Lodge is located in the world-renowned Rift Valley and surrounded by the most sought after photographic safari destinations. The lodge is set high, in a bush-cloaked ridge, with magnificent views over Lake Manyara.
Rift Valley Lodge is designed according to the circular motif of a traditional Masai village offering international sophistication with raw African beauty. The main lodge is built around an ancient Baobab tree in true Masai village style, with each public area designed as an individual unit with spectacular views over Lake Manyara. Relax in the lounge, enjoy fine dining in the restaurant or have sundowners at the bar, adjacent to the deck surrounding the baobab and overlooking the pool area. Leading from the lodge by walkways, the lodge features individual private chalets, each with uninterrupted views, private verandas and on suite facilities. Rhino Lodge is ideally located on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater rim. Rhino Lodge offers a perfect base from which to explore the Ngorongoro crater and its surroundings. Game drives into the crater, and, for the more adventurous, walking safaris in the forest reserve and visits to nearby Maasai villages, can all be arranged from the lodge.
The Lodge was originally the home of Ngorongoro’s first conservator, and its developers have maintained the house’s original rustic, low-impact style and natural setting. The 24 basic yet comfortable ensuite rooms all have balconies with forest views and the grazing area of the buffaloes, zebra, waterbuck and elephants.
Nasikia Central Camp
Nasikia Central Camp offers an intimate camping experience, deep in the bush of the central Serengeti. With high quality canvas between your bed and the sounds of the African night, this tented camp provides the ideal accommodation for lovers of the great outdoors, while retaining the coziness of a comfortable bed, a hot shower (water is limited… remember you're out in the bush!), good food and friendly staff.
