We designed our Peak Views to Plains itinerary based on feedback from clients who wanted a truly in-depth safari experience and it definitely delivers! This private journey focuses on three of the world’s best national parks for game-viewing: the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire, and of course includes our signature GBC cultural interaction throughout the trip. On game drives and on walking safaris this itinerary brings the best of Tanzania’s wildlife into center stage for an unforgettable adventure.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha
Meet at your lodge in Arusha and transfer to your lodge for a pre-safari briefing.
Overnight: Kia Lodge (Dinner included)
Day 2 - Arusha - Kilimanjaro
After a breakfast, we make our way to the access road between the mountains of Kilimanjaro & Meru. This area is home to the Maasai tribe, the Chagga tribe and massive farming projects. We pass through and end our journey at Sinya – with views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Meru, Mt Longido and Amboseli National Park in Kenya. We enjoy an afternoon of an open vehicle game drive, viewing species not seen in the national parks.

Day 3 - Kilimanjaro
Early morning game drive to see who passed through in the night – the elephants here are massive and have a migratory path here between Tanzania & Kenya. Return for lunch, a short wilderness walk and rest. In the mid-afternoon, we set off again and explore the acacia-ridden plains below the camp.

Day 4 - Kilimanjaro - Tarangire
Our final early morning game drive, before setting off to the west and Tarangire. Tarangire is famed for its massive elephant herds and true sense of wilderness with a back drop of baobab trees. From dry river beds, to acacia forests and Silale Swamp – Tarangire has it all. Continue to our luxury camp for overnight.

Day 5 - Tarangire
Armed with a picnic lunch, we set off back in Tarangire to explore further afield before returning for overnight. This evening we are able to partake is an exciting Night Game Drive in search of the nocturnal wildlife.

Day 6 - Tarangire - Ngorongoro
We say goodbye to Tarangire and climb into the Crater Highlands. In the village of Karatu, there is leisurely walking safari through farms and villages on the rift valley escarpment. You can discover the farming, irrigation and cattle husbandry techniques, visit houses and, if you want, sample local cuisine of the Iraqw tribe. There is also traditional wood-fired brick making, local musicians and you can generally gain a deeper understanding of the lifestyle of the people who live and work here. We proceed into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for overnight and a lodge that is run by the Maasai in Ngorongoro Forest.

Day 7 - Ngorongoro - Arusha
Ngorongoro is collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheatre, 25 km across and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world After lunch we return to Arusha.
Overnight: Possible to catch a flight to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam. (Breakfast and Lunch included)
Accommodation Information
Kia Lodge
Kia Lodge is located near Kilimanjaro International in the style of Maasai Huts. There is a swimming pool to escape the heat and the food is excellently reviewed.
Kambi Ya Tembo
Kambi Ya Tembo is lcoated in the Maasai community of Sinya. It has sweeping views of Mt Kilimanjaro, Mt Meru, Mt Longido and across to Amboseli National Park in Kenya.
Kikoti Safari Camp
Kikoti Safari Camp is located in the south-eastern area, just outside the Boundary Hill gate. It offers large tents set up on platforms overlooking the bush lands below. The dinning, bar and lounge area offer a good place to relax after a day of game driving. Night game drivers are offered but must be booked in advanced.
Rhino Lodge
Rhino Lodge is located within the Ngorongoro Conservation area. It is an old government lodge that has been refurbished by Coastal Aviation. The lodge is simply comfortable with the dining area having two large open fires and the resident wildlife right outside your window.

General Information
The walks within the tribal areas are carried out by our own guides in conjunction with the local, tribal guide – this allows easy translation and interpretation. Many of the areas have an array of plant & bird life so binoculars often assist in exact identification.
The price includes:
