Atlas Kasbah Ecolodge
Agadir, Morocco
Prices From: $94
The Atlas Kasbah Ecolodge in Morocco is the first eco-friendly accommodation in the Argan Biosphere Reserve, a Unesco World Heritage. It is located in the High Atlas Mountains yet only 20 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Agadir.
Opened in 2009, the Atlas Kasbah Ecolodge was granted both the prestigious Responsible Tourism Award from the Ministry of Tourism of Morocco and the international Green Key Ecolabel from King Mohamed VI Foundation for the Environment. In 2011, it was recognized as 1 of 6 projects in the world by the International Network of Responsible Tourism and was awarded the ALM Ecology Trophy the same year.
Your stay here is as much about your daily activities as about your accommodations. The lodge is close enough to hills and mountains to make hikes a splendid option, and close enough to the beach to enjoy some world-class surfing! Classes on permaculture in the morning, cooking classes in the lodge's sustainable kitchen in the afternoon, and stargazing at night are all available to guests.
The lodge's initiatives for sustainability include water conservation efforts, using renewable energy to heat its rooms during the winter, employing and supporting local community members, purchasing local products, and educating its guests about all of these initiatives.
