Casa Oaxaca is located in the heart of Oaxaca and offers guests the authenticity of living in a genuine colonial house of the 18th century. The building has been completely remodeled and has received a distinction as an Art Hotel for its interior design.
Simplicity of style characterizes the artistic arrangement of Casa Oaxaca´s ample spaces, creating a peaceful ambiance for a comfortable retreat. Large windows in typical white-washed walls overlook an inviting pool, large patio and garden, decorated to recreate an atmosphere of authenticity.
This hotel is gently intimate, having only nine rooms. Six of which are luxury rooms that are situated around the main patio area. One suite is to be found behind the main patio next to the swimming pool and temazcal facilities. The other suite is located on the east side of the patio, upper level, with two bedrooms.
The rooms are all ample in size and tastefully furnished. Each offers direct dial phones, hair dryers, internet access, safe deposit box, and cable television with remote control. All rooms are air-conditioned, non-smoking and their capacity is one or two persons.
Casa Oaxaca el Restaurante is one of the first restaurants in town to offer Mexican nouvelle cuisine. The gifted chef Alejandro Ruiz Olmedo creates imaginative nouvelle Mexican dishes with a light but sure touch. Dining is in the elegant covered patio as well as in an intimate room located just off the kitchen. With prime fresh products of Oaxaca and the coast, he prepares gourmet specialties.
From this classic niche, close to the zocalo and in the middle of the action, you may explore the wonders of Oaxaca, which was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. At the foot of a three-fork valley, Oaxaca has often been described as the most magical city of Mexico because of its strong indigenous presence, where, despite Spanish conquest and architectural vestige, the roots of the Zapotec culture are forever present as you stroll through its streets, discovering the gaiety of its people and its colorful markets.
