The Narutis Hotel

Located amid the wonderful cafés and shops of Old Town streets, major business areas and tourist attractions in Vilnius, the newly renovated Narutis Hotel is one of Eastern Europe's oldest and most unique buildings, preserved in its original 16th-century structure. The property offers a stunning view of the historic Vilnius University and Gediminas Castle. Many rooms boast original frescoes, ancient artwork, 16th-century beamed ceilings and Gothic vaults and all are dressed in lush fabrics and the finest furnishings.

There are 50 rooms, including two Suites with Turkish bath and Jacuzzi, seven Junior Suites (choose the room with the balcony or 16th century frescoes or one of the Duplex Rooms). Each of the rooms is individually designed, with stylish and comfortable Lithuanian and French furniture, elegant curtains and bedspreads, and soft, noise absorbing carpeting for the rooms and corridors. Each room has a mini bar, satellite TV with English, German, French and Russian channels, four Pay-TV channels and access to high-speed Internet. There is air-conditioning in all the rooms and conference halls as well as an autonomous heating system. All bathrooms have hair dryers and other conveniences.

The hotel's 16th-century cellar houses a restaurant, Kristupo Café, that is esteemed by both guests and residents of Vilnius, providing seating for up to 50 people. Renovated at the beginning of 2001, this elegant and romantic restaurant offers European cuisine, carefully selected and prepared by an internationally trained chef. One former owner of the hotel, a famous Lithuanian nobleman called Kristupas Radvila- Juodasis lends the café his name. In these cozy surroundings one may enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, read the latest dailies and observe the life of Pilies Street.
