Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Nairobi - Amboseli

From Nairobi, drive for 3-4 hours to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Early afternoon at leisure then proceed for game drive at 4:00pm in the park. With its backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro 5895m (Africa's highest mountain) and the abundant wildlife, Amboseli is a real spectacle. This is where you can see large herds of elephants and plains game, giraffes, gazelles, lions, leopards among others roaming the plains.

Day 2 - Amboseli

Embark on a whole day on game drives in the park. With its backdrop of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa's highest mountain) and the abundant wildlife, Amboseli provides a breathtaking spectacle. Large herds of elephants and plain’s game, giraffes, gazelles, lions, leopards etc roaming the plains are a common feature.

Day 3 - Amboseli - Tsavo West

Morning game drives as we exit Amboseli National Park. Then continue through dry shrub land and across the great lava flow of Mt Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills to Tsavo West National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by afternoon game viewing drive which includes a visit to the Rhino Sanctuary.

Day 4 - Tsavo West

Whole day of game drives at Tsavo West. Tsavo is Kenya’s largest park and is famous for its large herds of elephants. Visit Mzima Springs where from an underwater observation tank it is possible to see submerged hippo, crocodiles and fish on the floor of the springs.

‘Mzima’ which is Swahili translation for ‘Life’ is a phenomenal fresh water springs which gush suddenly from the underground rocks in the midst of dry patchy woodland to provide much needed life in one of the most arid parks in Kenya. Tsavo West also known for its unique volcanic features including ‘Five Sisters’ these are five cone shapes hills nestled in one area and exactly resembles; Chaumu and Shetani Lava flows are also major highlights; the Whistling Rock is a rocky hill that produces whistling sound on strong wind. Wild animals will spice up your date with the Tsavo including elephants, Masai Giraffes, lesser kudus, zebras, dik diks, lions, leopards, cheetahs among others.

You will be able to take a break to return to the lodge for lunch and early afternoon at leisure before proceeding for further game viewing drives at 4pm.

Day 5 - Tsavo West - Mombasa

Leave after breakfast for transfer to Mombasa arriving at Pinewood Village Resort in the afternoon.

Day 6 - Mombasa

Full day spent at leisure, relaxing on the sandy beaches of the South Coast as you enjoy the warm waters of the Indian Ocean; a nice way to wash off the dust after an exciting bush safari.

Day 7 - Mombasa

Enjoy a full day relaxing on the beach at your leisure.

Day 8 - Mombasa - Nairobi Departure

Leave after breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi.

Accommodation Information

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge

Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself. Close by are a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. At the center of ‘Maasailand', the lodge's décor reflects the brilliant primary colours and iconic shapes representative of these legendary warriors. At the heart of the lodge, shaded by palm trees, is a free-form swimming pool; to either side of which stretch the rooms. Each room is housed in a single storey building opening directly on to the grounds, each reflecting a Maasai manyatta theme: each with its own hand-painted wall frescos. The central dining area is reached by a timbered bridge over a melt-water stream, while the lounge and bar feature a broad terrace and a blazing fire-pit where evening cocktails can be enjoyed.

Ngulia Safari Lodge

Ngulia Safari Lodge, built in 1969, is located in Tsavo West National Park which a home to a big host of wild animals. It can be accessed from Nairobi (260 km away), through Mtito Andei Gate or from Mombasa (250km away) through Tsavo River Gate. The Lodge is perched on the Ndawe Escarpment just below Ngulia Hills, overlooking the Rhino Sanctuary surrounded by Scenic Hills. Ngulia Safari Lodge no doubt has one of the most breathtaking views in Kenya. Guests take guided expeditions to Mzima Springs ( a living Oasis inhabited with fish, crocodiles and hippos), Hippo Point ( inhabited with hippos and crocodiles), Shetani Caves, Chaimu Lava flows, Kichwa Tembo and Roaring Rocks among others.
