The Maquipucuna Ecolodge and Reserve is located in the cloud forest and owned and operated by the non-profit Maquipucuna Foundation. The cloud forest gets its name from its relative altitude which allows them to catch and create clouds that humidify the forest. Within the Reserve is a comfortable yet unpretentious lodge which provides spacious double and family rooms and hot showers for up to 18 people as well as quality local food.

It also offers a magnificent porch where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of the forest carried on the warm breeze while watching flying colors of birds against a background cape of green foliage.

While at the Reserve, the lodge will be your home-base for exploring the surrounding forest in the company of our naturalist and local guides. Your guides can tailor your activities to your requests. While at Maquipucuna you will enjoy bird-watching, hiking, swimming in waterfalls, or just lounging in the hammocks.

Through your visit to the Maquipucuna Reserve you will be contributing directly to the conservation of this area, including the vitally important spectacled bear monitoring program.

-Insurance
It is a condition of booking that you are adequately insured for the holiday. Insurance should include adequate cover for baggage, loss of money, personal accident, medical expenses and costs of repatriation (inc. international medical emergency service and air ambulance service).

-Health Requirements

Make sure you have sufficient supplies of any prescription medicine, it might be wise to bring a small personal first aid kit, including any patent medicines your prefer. You are the responsible for taking all necessary health precautions before and during your trip. It is the client's responsibility to ensure they seek professional medical advice before travelling and to take all necessary health precautions and preventative measures.
-Children and infants

The risks of taking children on our programs are entirely the responsability of the adult accompanying them.

-Rates include: Bilingual naturalist guide, Private transportation, Accommodations, Entrance fee to Maquipucuna, All Meals.
-Rates do not include: Entrance fee to Middle of the World Monument.

Cancellation Policies

Cancellation Fees

If cancellation is received before 120 days prior to the excursion date: US$ 25 per person
If cancellation is received between 119 and 60 days prior to the excursion date:
US$ 50 per person
If cancellation is received between 59 or less days prior to the excursion date: 100% of the full cost.
For boat charters in Galapagos, the cancellation policies will be according to the policies of each boat as well as our own policies.
