All 32 spacious lodges and suites are traditional Tibetan farmhouses with intricate woodcarvings, smoky fireplaces and wooden balconies that have valley or river views. In true Banyan Tree spirit, the resort is made up of original Tibetan farmhouses, which the resort group bought from local families, relocated and reconstructed in the traditional style of meticulously piling the logs one on top of another. Llamo is a Tibetan word to describe a place where common activities are held and a place where people congregate- this describes the restaurant which serves Chinese and Western menus, with a special emphasis on local ingredients. In addition, the Tea house serves a thorough range of Chinese teas.
The award-winning Banyan Tree Spa features three standard, double treatment rooms and two deluxe treatment rooms with both spa bath and shower facilities. Guests can indulge in a selection of new spa massages and Himalayan techniques, such as Gui Shi Hot Stones treatment and the relaxing Ringha massage. The spa has also developed several treatments to help guests ease muscle pain after strenuous trekking.
