Indigo Patagonia
Puerto Natales, Chile
Prices From: $187
Indigo is the result of the dreams of its three owners: the freedom and ruggedness of Chilean climber and advertiser Hernán Jofré, the taste and elegance of Spanish chemical engineer Ana Ibañez, and the vision and fantasy of French economist Olivier Potart. Three different origins but united by the magic of Patagonia and a strong will to create a place where travelers could mix with intrepid mountaineers and climbers and all share their experiences.
Indigo mixes a modern Nordic look with magnificent natural surroundings showcased through lots of big windows and outdoor spaces. There’s an easy-going vibe to the hotel, and the calm, quiet interiors are full of clean lines and soaring ceilings.
The Spa is in the attic, with massage rooms and a sauna, and is a heavenly high. Want to jump into one of the three hot tubs and marvel at the pristine beauty of Fiordo Última Esperanza? Now, this is what you came to Patagonia for!
Indigo is a blend of modern architecture from the hands of Chilean acclaimed architect Sebastián Irarrázaval and strong passion for Patagonia from its three multinational owners (Chilean, Spanish and French).
The rooms are distributed around a huge central court, which is divided by an impressive vertical curtain of eucalyptus trees. A clever system of bridges, ramps and staircases allow an interesting circulation inside the building and access to the rooms. The atmosphere inside the rooms is cozy and intimate, which is a nice contrast to the monumental feeling of the public areas, and to the rough nature of Patagonia, which is always visible from inside the hotel.
Located on the top-floor of the building, the Spa is a genuine gift for the senses. It features: three outdoor jacuzzis, from which one can watch one of the most amazing sunsets while drinking a glass of Chilean white wine, two massage rooms, with treatments ranging from a simple after-hiking relaxation to a full red algae massage, and one large sauna, both hot and silent. Let's not forget the good music, the large couches to relax on, the big logfire, and as always… the views!
