For the second year in a row Travel and Leisure names Virgina America the country's best domestic airline. As a fan of Virgin America since they started, I was pleased to see them recognized by T+L (although I was really surprised that Alaska Airlines made the top ten). Here are some of the things that I really like about Virgina America:

  • Customer Service - here at Global Basecamps we value our commitment to customer service and strive to accommodate any and all of our clients needs. The level of customer service from domestic airlines has been rapidly decreasing over the last decade. It's clear that Virgin America has quickly re-raised the the standard in customer service for domestic airlines.
  • Aircraft - Virgin America has the newest and arguably the most stylish planes.
  • Technology - Red, their in-flight entertainment system has movies, TV channels, video games and makes it simple to order food and drinks. This means you are never bored and never thirsty.

The only negative remains their $75 change fee. When you are fly from San Diego to San Francisco and have to pay 75% of your original ticket cost to switch times, this seems a bit unreasonable.
