Heron Island
Heron Island, Australia
Prices From: $250 - $350
On Heron Island, the emphasis is on enjoying natural beauty. Set amongst a dazzling parade of aquamarine waters, shimmering white sand beaches and colour-splashed reefs teeming with life. Here you can explore the reef, encounter extraordinary marine life and discover the attractions that have made Heron famous around the globe – like some of the best diving in the world.
Voyages Heron Island Resort offers its guests a range of choices in accommodation. Choose between the spacious Beach House with a private boardwalk to the beach, the private Wistari Suites that are situated in a garden, the luxurious beachfron Point and Heron Beachside Suites, or the more casual Reef Suites and Turtle Rooms.
Although all types of accommodation range in size, ambience and location, they all feature a ceiling fan (some are air-conditioned), an ensuite bathroom with shower, and a private outdoor area. To help guests leave the outside world behind, televisions and telephones, while available on the Island, are not found in guest rooms (telephones are available in Point Suites, Wistari Suites and the Beach House).
Breakfast and lunch are buffet style, while dinner features a 3 course table d'hote or Saturday seafood buffet and mid-week Aussie BBQ. Evening activities and entertainment take place at the Pandanus Lounge and Baillies Bar, that also offer panoramic reef views and an outdoor terrace.
It's what you don't see around Heron that makes the resort so special. You won't see any buildings above the tree line. And you won't bump into any daytrippers either. The reef experience on Heron is exclusively for guests, a unique experience few other resorts in the world offer.
Voyages Heron Island is a true coral cay located right on the Great Barrier Reef. Here you can swim straight off the beach to an endless garden of coral where the waters are teeming with fish and marine life. Being located in a World Heritage Listed area, you can expect the outdoors to be number one on your to-do list.
Heron Island is world famous for its fantastic scuba diving and snorkelling. Experience some of Australia's best dive spots - more than 30 dive sites are available, half of which are only 15 minutes from the beach.
